Gemma Thomas – Acting Manager, SENCO, Key worker NVQ level 3. I hold a Level 3 diploma in early years education. Working with children has always been my dream and for me there is nothing more rewarding than helping them reach their milestones.
Kirsty Manning – Deputy Manager, Key Worker, NVQ level 4 working towards foundation degree in early years. I currently hold a NQ 3 in childcare and education and studying for a foundation degree in early years, which I feel will help me with my role in the ever changing area of childcare. I have been working with children for over 15 years. I feel privileged to be able to help children discover and learn new things every day and to see them develop.
Jackie Pennyfather – Deputy, key worker, SENCO (Currently on Maternity Leave) NNEB Diploma in Childcare and Education – Level 3. I have 16 years experience of working in Childcare. I have always enjoyed being part of a team and have a passion for working with Children. For me personally, the skills I’ve learnt over the years enables me to give children the support and care they need, help to prepare them for school life, and all whilst having fun along the way with learning, laughing and playing game
Dawn Goodacre – Key Worker, (currently on maternity leave) ENCO, NVQ level 3 NNEB. I have worked with children for numerous years. I have joined Small Steps after having my own little boy who is now 18 months old and I am very excited to have become part of the Small Steps family.
Karen Cooper – Preschool Assistant, Key Worker, Level 3 Diploma in Pre-School Practice. I have a level 3 Diploma in Pre-School Practice qualification. I love working with young children and enjoy watching and nurturing their development as they make their way through the important time spent at Pre School. I feel it is so important that every child reaches their full potential in all areas of development.
Jane Waldock – Key Worker. NVQ Level 2 & Safeguarding Level 3. I have worked with children aged 3 months – 10 years for over fifteen years so have lots of experience. I especially enjoy anything creative and love sharing this enthusiasm with the littlest of artists, encouraging their imagination, speech and motor skills while they explore creative activities. I love working with pre-school children as they are like little sponges with so much to learn and lots of new things to experience.
Linda Harriss – Pre-School Assistant, Health and Safety Officer. I have been involved with Small Steps since 2012, as a parent, a committee member, a parent volunteer and now as a member of staff.

I currently hold a degree in Early Years (level 5) and I am working toward my Bachelor degree. I enjoy being a part of the Small Steps team and being able to share the adventures that children and staff create in the setting”.
